I really love lettering in pretty much any form. I am obsessed with cool fonts and calligraphy and even handwriting.
I'd love to take a calligraphy class someday. This video inspired me to bump it up on my to do list. How cool is his lettering? wow.

Such a cool shot
Lee Industries
I still love my Lee Industries sofa today as much as when I bought at Crate & Barrel two years ago. It's given me a strong appreciation for well-constructed furniture.

I felt pretty fancy when I saw that Sofia has the same sofa (different color) in her Soho loft.

Their furniture is classic-yet-contemporary and comes in every possible fabric choice you could imagine. Here are a few of my faves from their website. I could easily furnish my entire house with their beautiful stuff.

Starting Over with the Bedroom
I went again (begrudgingly) to IKEA yesterday to return the two navy blue shades and some yellow striped drapes.
Here's what I got while there:
White shades. Much better than the navy. I don't know what I was thinking.
White lamps.
Frames galore for my new prints and some family photos that I'm photoshopping to death to create a soft dreamy look and washed out colors. I'm still working out the kinks, but I think the effect will look cool.
I love the ribba frame. Probably the best thing IKEA sells. I got a selection in white and in dark wood.

I got one of these frames too, just to mix it up a little.

Also, I saw this on design*sponge today and it reminded me that I have some cool, ornate frames down in my basement that I should paint up glossy white or another fun color to mix in with my simple ribba frames.

I bought a great rug that I have been eying for a while. I can't find it on IKEA's website, so you'll just have to wait until I post the completed room pictures to see it. It is still wrapped up in plastic because I'm not done painting the room yet, but I have high hopes that it will look cool in my room.
As per Michael's request, I'm looking for a wooden bench to go at the foot of the bed. I thought about this one from IKEA, but for $59, I think I can find a cooler one elsewhere. One that is easier to paint or already has a pretty, dark stain.

Pier 1... really?
Apparently, these awesome lamps (as seen on Decorno) are from Pier 1, and they are/were on sale.

I'm crossing my fingers that they still have two in stock for me and my begging-for-chic-white-lamps night stands.

For the Walls...
Here are two new pieces of artwork I got for the bedroom walls.
This one is part of a limited edition on Little Paper Planes. Cheap and pretty.

This is a silk-screened reproduction of the British Army's WWII poster "Keep Calm and Carry On."

I think it is a cool little mantra to wake up to and start the day off right. Plus, I love the crown.
Here's what it looks like in a room. I like the red, but I went with the yellow version.

Jonathan Adler Bedding
I got my duvet cover and bed skirt in the mail Saturday. I washed and pressed everything and put it on my bed (with my freshly painted yellow headboard and my white 750 thread count Hotel Collection sheets) and I think I like the way it is going to look once everything is done.

I'm sure I'll feel better about the look once I get my night stands and walls painted today (everything is clashing a lot right now). Also, I think I need to find the navy blue pillow cases from above. My current white ones just aren't doing the trick.

Awesome Rugs
I just about died of happiness/excitement the first time I stepped into ABC Carpet and Home in New York. If I had a lot of money, my entire house would be furnished from there. But I don't have money yet, so this is a note to my future self:
IF YOU HAVE MONEY BUY THESE RUGS!
By Madeline Weinrib Atelier at ABC
I absolutely cannot get enough of this navy rug! I am totally crazy over navy right now and am redecorating my bedroom in navy, yellow and gray. My new Jonathan Adler duvet looks a lot like this rug.

Love these zig zags that come in tons of different colors. I'm seeing these rugs in lots of design magazines and blogs.
I especially love this red.

Mrs. Meyer's Clean Day
I'm itching to start my spring cleaning - if only to be able to convince myself that it's almost spring as the snow falls outside and the temperatures are freezing!
I love this line of cleaning supplies. Geranium scent is my favorite so far. It makes my house smell nice when I do the dishes.
They sell this line at Linens N Things, Target (sometimes), Whole Foods and the last time I was at TJMaxx HomeGoods they had the dish soap at half price, so I stocked up. This small bottle last me several weeks - a little goes a long way!
