I was originally thinking of a big, curvy upholstered headboard for this room, but I then I revisited my "Bedroom" files and discovered these two images that feature a low upholstered head and footboard. I'm in love.

Design by Timothy WhealonI found a vintage crate bed at a used furniture store, complete with a solid wooden headboard, footboard and side rails. The height is a little off, so I am building up the head and footboards with some wooden slats before I upholster the whole thing in this really cool tapestry fabric that I got at my local discount fabric store.
And don't you worry, there will be lots of nailhead trim for good measure.
I'll be sure to take lots of pictures for a tutorial later. You guys are going to flip over this bedroom!
